High Falls

A small forest runs alongside the Depuy Canal through High Falls in upstate New York. Midwinter, it presents a bleak scene, a landscape shot throughout with man-made structures, some formidable, some curious or odd, their purpose unclear.

All of these human endeavors were proving to be temporary, some more intentionally than others. From the cutting of the canal through the rolling hills to the containers of sand taped up for target practice, some measure of violence pervaded the space, a sense of unease throughout.

The work is available on Singulart, they are in an edition of 6.
