Donegal, almost a separate Republic, possesses both scale and drama. I have family at the very top of the county, and it has been a place I've driven through rather than engaged with. Of late, it has become more present and from initial scouts with polaroids to larger formats later, I've wondered how best to take on such a challenging landscape and see what might emerge. I found a landscape with centuries of human markings, both ancient and contemporary, even in the most isolated and deserted spots.
